Combined Heat & Power
Traditional Power Plants Waste Heat
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, nearly two-thirds of energy used to generate conventional electricity is wasted in the form of heat. What’s more, additional energy is wasted during the distribution of electricity to end-users. These centralized power plants can waste 55% of the energy through discharged heat and through electrical losses along the distribution line.
On-site CHP can be a better option
CHP, also known as cogeneration, is a more efficient, less expensive and more sustainable way to generate both heat and power for on-site consumption. Our combined heat and power (CHP) systems are designed, manufactured, installed, monitored and maintained by our Aegis Energy to provide your buildings with heat and electricity using a single fuel. These systems can provide 85% operational efficiency versus the low efficiency of traditional central power plants, which are only 30% efficient and still need to overcome your utility electrical network's line losses to reach your building's internal electrical infrastructure.
