Recreational Facilities

The impact of the economic recession is still looming on health and sports centers as a combination of high thermal demand required for pool heating, ambient air dehumidification and domestic hot water continue to put pressure on the long-term financial health of these facilities.

Keeping energy costs above water

Dalkia provides scalable on-site cogeneration systems that can reduce energy costs by up to 50% in recreational facilities. Waste heat from the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) system is used to warm pool water and operate absorption cooling units, heat-wheels or other desiccant systems that reduce ambient humidity.

Dalkia has successfully designed and installed CHP systems in numerous recreational facilities, including municipal indoor pools, school pools at educational institutions, ice rinks, athletic clubs and water parks.
